How to use YouTube to get you customers.

Every week I get people asking me how YouTube actually helps promote their videos. And I tell them that YouTube can be one of the most useful tools to getting their business seen online especially in front of the right people.

If you’re a regular reader of my weekly emails then you’ll know all about YouTube Keywords and Descriptions. They’re basically information about your video that YouTube uses to make it easier for people to find them. So if you’re a Barber from Bracknell, you’ll want to be top of the search when anybody types in ‘Barber in Bracknell’ so you’d fill the keywords bar with words like ‘Barber’ and ‘Bracknell’ and words like it. But to find keywords that will be more likely to bring you to the top of the search rankings you need to find words that have high search rate, but little competition. And a FANTASTIC tool for this is the Google Keyword Planner. By finding these magic keywords you can successfully push yourself up the rankings and become the Best Barber in Bracknell.

There’s plenty of work that you can do behind the scenes after your video is finished, BUT I’d say the MOST IMPORTANT thing that you can do for your video to get people watching it is by making a BRILLIANT video. If your video is watchable, then it immediately becomes SHARABLE. And that’s where we come in!

This week’s Video of the Week is a video that I saw a few weeks ago. It’s a video for ‘Save the Children’ and I wanted to show you purely because it takes something that you’ve seen a million times before (i.e a charity video with children suffering) which to some extent we’ve all become de-sensitised  to.  Although it’s terrible that we’ve become de-sensitised to these types of videos, ‘Save the Children’ faced an uphill challenge by coming up with something that can get the effect their after (getting people to be aware of their cause). You can really take something from this type of video, taking a tired video concept and creating something new and worth watching and sharing (this video already has upward of 28 million views…IMPRESSIVE).
