For a while now I’ve wanted to make a video diary, a lot of our ‘Behind the Scenes’ series of videos do quite well in terms of engagement so making a behind the scenes video with a simple hand held camcorder seemed like a good idea.

To be honest the quality of the video isn’t great, I’ll be the first to admit that. To be honest I’d use a different camera in the future. However I really hope that the lessons I learnt from my day of shooting a video diary have come across in the video. I see a lot of people posting great video content on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram but it brings very little value, some often list what they’re doing… and that’s it.

The biggest lesson I learnt from today was to try and give a few tips, in each segment I shot. I don’t think I’ll shoot a whole long video like this again, BUT I will shoot smaller segments throughout the day and post them online as they happen. I’ve seen this work really well for a lot of people and that’s my next step… keep an eye out on Monday 11th April on our Facebook page I’ll be posting stuff on there all day.
