When it comes to sharing a video on social media, you have to be aware of a few things.

a) Who your audience is.

and

b) What results you want to get from the video.

I hear a lot of people worrying about the amount of views they have on their videos, to be honest a ‘view’ isn’t a great metric of how your video performs, for example on Facebook if somebody skims over your video for three seconds it counts as a view. Which is insane when you think about it!

The best example of video metrics I’ve come across is from Wistia, they offer fantastic analytics right down to who watched your video, for how long and where they re-watched it. But that’s for a future show…

The best way to get your video seen is to share it on social media, and that’s where this week’s question comes from. It didn’t take me long to realise that if I stopped sharing a video it wouldn’t be seen. You’ll have to have a really engaged following for them to seek your videos out as soon as you upload a video and that takes time and quality content. So where is a good place to start?

Today’s video gives you three quick tips to get started, they revolve around the big three social networks for b2b businesses: Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.

Take a look at the video and let me know what you think and as always feel free to ask us your questions for future episodes of #TheVideoShow using that hashtag on Twitter.
